Shh! It’s a secret.

My mother is in San Antonio this week, so this was the perfect opportunity to make her a secret Mother’s Day present. She usually puts in requests for presents, which I’m happy to do. Only I also like to give her a surprise gift.

This year it’s a Pearly Coils Bangle!

Pearly Coils Bangle

I really want to antique the bracelet, but mom doesn’t like antiqued jewelry. So I suppose I’ll have to just make myself another one.

The problem with that is that piece was hand-coiled. That’s 3 feet of wire hand-coiled onto another piece of wire. It was miserable work, but I think it was well worth the effort. I’m just not sure I can go through that again. *L*

As you can see, I added the charm I made yesterday. I’m not sure how well it matches the bracelet though. I keep squinting at it as if the answer will reveal itself, but I remain undecided.

In case you’re wondering, my mom doesn’t read my blog. So it’s quite safe for me to parade it on the Internet.

Thanks to Jamie at The Bead Gallery for teaching me how to make this bracelet. She is truly the Wire Master!

Speaking of The Bead Gallery, if you’re in Honolulu this Sunday, Jamie and Jason are holding a charity event at their store.  I’ve donated a few of my own pieces but there will be a lot more then jewelry there! So please drop by if you have a chance!

Meanwhile, Sammy is still agog.

Happy Aloha Friday, everyone! Remember you have until midnight Hawaiian time to enter the contest. The winners will be announced on Monday. :)
