One of the nice things about taking the class at the shop was that I had access to all their design stamps. I was able to try all sorts of funky stamps.
I ended up making a pendant.
As you can see, I really did use a lot of their design stamps. We call it “loading up the palette.” :)
I’m in the process of making a necklace for it, but I’m not sure how well that’s working out. We shall see.
I came home with a lot of goodies so I could do my own stamping at home. For my first solo project I decided to make a tiny charm to attach to a bracelet I’ll be giving to my Mom for Mother’s Day.
I had a great vision for the charm. The word would be centered. The little lotus would be right under the “e”.
As you can see, that didn’t happen. So I kinda winged it. Hopefully, it’s still pleasing to the eye.
I had a hard time coming up with a good word for Mom. She’s not a very frivolous woman and simply putting the word “mom” on a charm would be too corny for her. I think “zen” embodies her whole life philosophy and will be much more appreciated.
This whole new aspect of jewelry making has me really excited and I’m anxiously awaiting more design stamps coming my way. Only I can see this getting really expensive. I mean dreadfully spendy. You would not believe how much the set of alphabet metal stamps cost me and here I am already lusting for another in a different font.
I’m not the only one excited. Sammy spies something out the window that’s got him all agog.
Happy Thursday, folks! The weekend is right around the corner! :D
